accidental rothko (v3.0)

Whenever I need a kick start visually, I always try to revert back to something fun and meaningless.
My so-called “Accidental Rothko” series is always on-going leading me through hoods and alleyways, warehouses and strip malls looking for interesting splatters of paint, decaying walls, and graffiti cover-ups reminiscent of Mr. Rothko’s paintings. This is a hodgepodge of frames from Lake Okeechobee, St. Petersburg, Bradenton, and back home in Sarasota.
If anything, this little project gets me recharged, it also gets me back out in the community exploring, which is half the battle of photojournalism. Too bad these are nothing near what could even be remotely called photojournalism; however, it’s therapeutic for me and my “real” work.
For the old series of images, click Accidental Rothko and Accidental Rothko (v2.0).
